Delusion is common among Republicans, whether or not they recognize it and they have a problem with their seeming cluelessness because they keep trying to do what they can’t; govern! They spend all kinds of money getting elected only to steal as much as they can when they get into office by giving favors and tax cuts to the wealthy supporters who have destroyed America by eliminating the jobs and unions that made our nation the number one exporter of finished goods and the top lender nation, turning it around with corporate loopholes, tax cuts for the rich and robbing the treasury blind with bullshit wars and insane economic policies.
The GOP debates reveal what’s wrong with their party at every turn. Rick Perry was instantly popular and led the field until he joined the debates and people found out how stupid and bought off he is. Most of the others are crazy or stupid except Jon Huntsman, AKA the “Other Mormon.” Mitt Romney is already the projected winner but anything can and often does happen in politics as the GOP doesn’t really like Mitt the Shit, AKA Flipper. Now they think Chris Cristie is who they want…until they get to know him. Line them up and pick them off one by one, or it might be more like crabs in a bucket where they pull down the one at the top to climb over him. Michele Bachmann had no time after winning the Iowa straw poll before Rick Perry announced and trounced her in the polls. As soon as his armor showed chinks and cracks, they went after him en masse to elevate Romney by default. Santorum has exposed his bizarre extremes and stupidity while Gary Johnson can’t seem to get any traction at all. Like little children, after they get what they want, they don’t want it anymore. Many Republicans have to confront the deterioration of their party and it’s splintering and the Democrats are in the same boat as both parties need to be broken up into three separate but affiliated by overall ideology that they caucus together but a third group needs to form from a party at the true center of partisan politics populated by American civil servants which includes all people working for the government who don’t swallow the Kool-Aid of either side. Armed Forces should not be partisan as they serve the country no matter who the commander in chief is.
All those people in the bureaucracies of government and museums, federal employees of all types as well as police, fire and emergency workers along with trash collectors and librarians, public workers of all sorts who don’t have a political agenda, would need a party that doesn’t take sides, as George Washington wanted our nation to be. He wanted a meritocracy in which people earned the right to be elected by their excellent service to their country, which is why twelve generals went on to become president along with five colonels, two Navy Commanders, three Majors, a Lt. Commander, three Army Captains, two Navy Lt. with one Lt. JG and a First Lt who never saw combat and skipped out on his service to help someone run for office.
Those who achieve high rank in the military understand the responsibility of managing large numbers of people and massive resources in defense of the nation. The last general to run for president was Wesley Clark, a Capricorn who triumphed in the Balkan conflict in the late nineties and tried to unseat Bush in 2004. We don’t necessarily need a military man to lead but someone who commands the respect of all the people, as the Libran Eisenhower did, would be nicer than the insanity we have today.
